Michelle Barton is one of the world’s fastest ultrarunners. At 40 years old she has won over 60 trail races and has raced 135 miles across the brutal terrain of Death Valley to earn the highly coveted Badwater Buckle. And the best part? She’s just getting started.
As Orange County’s trail running rock star, Michelle Barton currently holds over two dozen records for 50 K and 50 mile ultra trails. She is the mixed division team winner of the 2007 GORE-TEX TransRockies Run and has won the 100 mile “Javalina Jundred” in 19 hours and 42 minutes. In 2011 alone, Barton won 14 trail races and counting. She took 1st place at the Shadow of the Giants 50K at Yosemite and remains unbeaten in every event she’s entered so far – she’s a modern day running phenomenon.
