Biography
Dr. Jacques graduated as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from The National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1997 and is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) with over 10 years of experience. Much of Dr. Jacques career has been spent in the dietary supplement industry as a formulator, speaker, writer, and educator. She has dedicated the vast majority of the past five years of her life to the weight loss surgery community, teaching medical nutrition and advocating for standards in nutritional care. Acknowledged for her general expertise in natural medicine, Dr. Jacques appears as a guest on radio and television and writes for several publications including Nutrition and the MD, Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, Bariatric Times, Today's Dietitian, and Integrative Health Retailer. She has also contributed to several books on natural medicine, including Prevention Magazine's The Doctors Book of Home Remedies, and is the author of the clinical guidebook Micronutrition for the Weight Loss Surgery Patient. Dr. Jacques was named Health Professional of the Year in 2004 by Bariatric Support Centers International and currently lectures both nationally and internationally to health professionals and the public alike. Dr. Jacques is also is the top volunteer expert in both the categories of Naturopathic Medicine and Bariatric Surgery for About.com.

Shortly after graduating from the prestigious National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon, the oldest existing college of natural medicine in the United States, Dr. Jacques moved to California in 1999 and founded Well Path Incorporated, a natural medicine consulting business. She then proceeded to consult in virtually all areas of the natural products industry. In 2002, Dr. Jacques became one of the founders of Bariatric Advantage, a company dedicated to providing the best of nutritional care to weight loss surgery patients. She currently serves as the Chief Science Officer for this company. In addition, Dr. Jacques sits on the Board of Directors for the national non-profit organization, The Obesity Action Coalition, the Advisory Board for the Samueli Center of Integrative Medicine at University of California, Irvine, and the Board of Directors for a privately held nutrition company.

A current resident of Southern California, she has two beautiful sons, ages 6 and 9. In her free time she is passionate about reading, cooking and spending time at the beach. Dr. Jacques says her greatest love is empowering individuals to better their own health, and she has sought out platforms both personally and professionally to allow her to do so to the greatest degree.
