Just Being Me
I never really suffered from being ridiculously overweight; the most I ever weighed was 140lbs. I’ve been sheltered by my family, friends and parents. In my community everyone accepted me as I got comfortable on how I looked because everyone else around me had the same look. At age 22, when I stepped out into the world clubbing, fashion, friends and popularity became my focus. I had everything I wanted; even the great abs. Getting caught up in a cycle that became my lifestyle, I started losing grip of what is one of the most important things in our life, our health.

My guts were hanging everywhere. I was good with fashion, so my attitude was to hide everything with the clothes I wore because internally, I knew I needed to hide something. I always felt unloved, unconfident and never really able to be myself, but that was a feeling that was hidden from everyone around me.

It wasn’t until I was awakened by the truth around us: how even though my parents and the people close to me would say that I looked good, in reality, I became a very unhealthy person.
