What I Didn't Know Then That I Know Now!
While many people have been struggling for most of their lives with weight issues, I have been fortunate enough to have maintained a consistent and healthy weight for most of my life. So why even put up a testimonial if I have always looked fit, you may ask? Well, because there’s more to my story than meets the eye and YOR Health products have really helped me in more ways than one!

People tend to look at me and see my fit demeanor as a product of a high metabolism, but the truth is that the reason why I was able to be in shape for most of my life was due to my extensive involvement in sports. Who would’ve thought that a 5’1 petite, “girly, girl” from the Bronx would be considered one of the most aggressive runners in NYC? But for eight years, I was one of the top runners in my high school and college cross country and track and field teams. Running 7 to 15 miles a day, six days out of the week and working out with the track team became one of the most important things in my life. Not only did I love running but I also loved that I always weighed between 105 and 113 pounds even though I ate everything and anything I wanted. From Chinese food to ice cream shakes to pizza, I ate unhealthy foods every night at really late hours without even knowing what the true meaning of a calorie count was. Like many young people I had the mentality that I could eat as I pleased without having to worry about the physical consequences that such foods may bring…Crazy right?

After I graduated college I started working at a full time job, sitting at a cubicle 8 hrs a day. I began to fall into the routine of working long hours, going home, socializing, eating, sleeping and then repeating the cycle everyday, week after week. I knew I could be doing more with my life which is why I tried to work out some times after work but most of the time I was so tired that I eventually lost the concept of a workout routine. I did, however, continue with my unhealthy eating habits.

For the first year or so after graduation, I was fortunate enough not to have gained any weight as I managed to stay in the weight range of 113 to 115 pounds. Due to such luck, I continued thinking, as I had throughout my entire life, that my body would always remain perfectly slim – boy was I wrong.

At this point in my life, as I was consistently eating unhealthy take outs – little by little I began noticing that my size 0 clothes were fitting tighter. When I would look at my body in the mirror I noticed that I was developing a gut and I wasn’t as toned as I used to be. Worst of all, everyone started noticing that my face looked a bit plumped and that I had gained weight! It was extremely frustrating to know that people began noticing my weight gain and that I wasn’t fit anymore! Everyone always told me “Angely you are so lucky! You have such a nice body,” but obviously that was coming to an end. I slowly became more self conscious about my body and watched what I wore. I even tried sucking in my stomach if my outfit was too tight because I wanted to avoid more people from noticing my weight gain. It was at that point when I got tired of feeling uncomfortable and decided to start working out again. It was also when I noticed that I had gained eight pounds, and weighed 123. For many this may not seem like a big deal, but for someone who never went over 115 lbs it is a noticeable difference that takes on an emotional and physical toll.

After working out about 3 times a week for about four weeks, I lost 5lbs and weighed 117 pounds. This was a good start to my workout regimen but when the YOR Health products launched and I heard how it could do more for my body than just help me lose the weight, I was excited!
