Hello, my name is Soraya. Some of you do not know me but maybe you know my husband. He is Mexican actor, singer and song writer, Agustin Arana. I worked in the Fashion World for approximately 12 years. I had a successful career, thank God. A lot of people probably imagined, a couple of years ago, that we had a very comfortable life, with a lot of success. But the reality, and what many people didn´t know, was that down deep inside of me, lived a little girl, with a lot of pain and deficiencies.
I am the youngest of four siblings. I was born in a small town, my parents were very poor, my father was an alcoholic. We survived only with the salary my mom earned. As a child I never really understood a lot of things, but I did have a great desire to help my mother. I saw how tired, how devastated she was. And as a little girl, I was heartbroken. All I could think about was how I could help her. What could I do to make her feel good? So I decided to share the pain along with her. I remember I used to wait until she came home from work, very late at night, sometimes after three shifts, just to give her a hug, so she could feel calmer and get some rest. I used to wonder why she did that. I could not find an answer. Later I learned that the only thing she wanted was for us to have a better life than the one she had.
Because of all this, I decided to start working at a very young age. I saw a group of models doing a shoot for a catalogue. That caught my attention and rather than my looks, I think people saw that I was earnest and willing to do what was needed in order to be successful. So they gave me an opportunity.
Obviously, in that small town, I could not do much. There wasn’t a big fashion scene, so I had to take the risk and go to Mexico City alone. I only knew one person. I arrived in a huge and unknown city and started working. One day, when I was arriving at home, I received a phone call from one of my sisters. She told me something that I could not understand… it was something really painful for me. My mom tried to take her own life, for the second time. I understood then what it was to feel lonely, and really hopeless. So, I made the decision to be a very successful model, so I could give my mother everything she needed and she could feel good again.
On one of my jobs, I saw a very handsome man walk in, and I said, this is the man of my dreams. Since that day, that’s how I saw him. He was very funny and after getting to know him better I realized that his parents raised him with good values. They taught him to work hard, and that is what has kept us together until today, almost 18 years. We share a lot of hobbies, breeding dogs is one of them. We really have a lot to thank life for, but we still were missing something. We did not know what. We kept looking, but could not find it. YOR Health has been of great impact in my life. All the sadness, the loneliness I once felt, because of all I lacked in my childhood, are now gone. And I have found a great team, filled with beautiful human beings whom are willing to share themselves, and I do believe that is priceless. They have taught me great things. And also through my team I found something I had always been looking for, the opportunity to help others.
I know that deep inside a lot of people there still is a little boy or girl. And with the love and joy that they can find here at YOR Health, they can feel so much better. That is what we are sharing… what I want to share with you.
