Itinerary
Day 1
- Arrive in Paris
- Walk along the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe
- Enjoy a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower
The Leaders follow in the footsteps of Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn in “Funny Face,” with a walk down Paris’s most well-known street and a visit to the top of the Eiffel Tower. In passing, the Leaders stop to view the Arc de Triomphe, a massive monument commissioned by Napoleon to commemorate his victories at war.
Day 2
- Tour Notre Dame Towers, legendary home of the Hunchback of Notre Dame
- Attend the French Open to watch the Women’s Single Semi-Finals and Doubles Finals
Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the wonders of European architecture. The tour group visits Notre Dame and explores its gargoyle-festooned gothic towers. Then, in the afternoon, the Leaders are off to Roland-Garros, also known as the French Open, the second of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
Day 3
- Take a private tour of the Louvre Museum
- Attend the French Open to watch the Men’s Single Semi-Finals
Perhaps the most famous museum in the world, the Louvre plays host to many masterpieces of Western art. The Leaders get a closer look at works such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo in a private, guided tour. Then it’s back to the French Open to watch a legendary face-off in the exciting Men’s Single
Semi-Finals.
Day 4
- Travel by bullet train to the city of Cannes in the French Riviera
- Dine in view of the Port Cannes Marina
Known as the playground of the rich and famous, the French Riviera has graced the silver screen many times, most memorably in Hitchcock’s “To Catch A Thief.” The Leaders take in the gorgeous scenery as they race by high-speed train down to Cannes, home of the
star-studded Cannes Film Festival.
Day 5
- Visit the seaside town of Port Grimaud
- Tour the Citadel of Saint-Tropez
- Shop and see the sights in the Old Port of Saint-Tropez
The tour group takes a ride down the canals of Port Grimaud, a charming village featuring Venice-style waterways. Next, the Leaders tour an imposing 15th century fort, the Citadel of Saint-Tropez. Finally, the Leaders spend time in the seaside resort of Saint-Tropez, known as a magnet for celebrities and fashionistas and the place where actress Brigitte Bardot was discovered.
Day 6
- Visit the Prince’s Palace of Monaco
- Stop in at the Monte Carlo Casino
The Leaders visit the palace where actress Grace Kelly spent her married life as Princess of Monaco and wife to Prince Rainier. Then it’s on to the Monte Carlo Casino, whose high-stakes gaming rooms have often served as a glamorous backdrop in the James Bond series of books and movies.
Day 7
- Return to Paris by high-speed rail
Day 8
- Tour the Palace of Versailles
Once home to the kings and queens of France, the Palace at Versailles defines opulence. The Leaders visit the royal residence and take in its many glorious sights, including the famed Hall of Mirrors, formal gardens and the private estates used by the king and queen.
